Bad Teacher

BAD TEACHER MOVIE PREMIERE | ALEX MARTINEZ | Flickr

A generic Rom-Com that does have its moments but lack of energy and torpid screenplay/acting prevents it from going to an upstanding place. Yet some well put together scenes produce adequate comedy and drama that supplies safe and benign fun. Leading lady Cameron Diaz carries the film on her shoulder. She tries hard to make this an acceptable experience and her efforts are praiseworthy but everything else does not come together and she stumbles inevitably.

Highs: The script is easy to understand and relate to. The writing team has done an admirable job by keeping the plot always at reach and the discipline is solid. The added drama in between comedy angle is also decent which is a tough job to pull off for a rom-com. The lead character is strong and has depth to add value to the film.

Lows: Supporting cast fails to impress even though the film heavily invests onto them. The ambiance is not jolly enough for a comedy movie. Fails to spread happiness and does not produce enough laughter.

Rating: 2 **
