The most commonly used recipe for slash horror movies are the systematic elimination of characters to create fear and it's a stale formula by now. 'Haunt' manages to be an entertaining movie using those same good ol' precepts and still offers some kick ass fun. The movie is gory at times but does not feel disgusting at all and you would start caring for the characters even you feel like this is not your genre of movies.
Highs: Smartly paced and edited, Clever cinematography produces truly refreshing scenes. Blood pumping suspense and thriller through both halfes and a good ending as well. Acting overall is also very good.
Lows: Sequencing of scenes feels emblematic most of the times since it's influenced by movies we all have seen before.
